Skydiving was the most incredible adventure! My heart was racing with fear and the excitement of anticipation. There are no words to adequately describe the intensity of that moment when you step out of a perfectly good airplane and hurl yourself at 120 mph toward the ground.
I was unprepared for the panic that wanted to take hold, the adrenaline rushing through me, the pressure of the harness, the power of the air and the overall feeling of floating two and a half miles above the ground in the beautifully wild and open blue yonder.
I had the privelage of jumping with tandem instructor, Mike Pintamo from Mile-Hi Skydiving in Longmont, Colorado. Without Mike's wisdom and humor I don't know that I would have found the courage to jump. His constant, steady and calming voice in my ear telling me to breathe, to relax and to enjoy the ride made my experience phenomenal instead of terrifying.
If you ever get the chance... do it. It will change your life.
