Excellent Read!
Non-stop action-packed thrill-ride!! This is the second book in the series and if you haven't read the first one, it's called Tetterbaum's Truth, you need to read it first. I can't wait for the next book to come out. I read anywhere from 50-100 books each year and this Just Call Me Angel series is one of the best I've read in the past several years. These books are published through a small press (Vanilla Heart) who I predict will be thanking their lucky stars they signed this author as soon as word about this series hits the masses. Excellent read! If you want to dive into a great series folks, this is the one for you!

ALLBOOKS REVIEWS
Many popular writers will tell you the first sentence of a novel is the most important; it should hook the reader right away. In fact, I've heard that Stephen King actually collects excellent first lines from other writers via his website. Well, if so, S.R. Claridge should send him the first line of TRAITORS AMONG US because it does just that: snares you immediately. Having recently read TETTERBAUM'S TRUTH, the first in this author's "Just Call Me Angel" series, I was elated to find I was headed for another thrilling page-turner. Angel is back, in the second of, hopefully, many more novels. And once again we're treated to Angel's ornery, matchmaking and feisty Aunt Olga again, as well as two of Angel's former lovers, and some colorful new characters to say the least. Okay, here's the jist. Angel's mother, missing since Angel was eighteen years old, shows up. If Angel can find her, that is. And that's pretty much the primary quest here for our protagonist. Of course, many obstacles abound thwarting the quest such as: complications provided by Angel's romantic entanglements and long-held secrets as well as intricate power plays by the Chicago Mafia and even the New York Five Families. Add to that a scary dude called "The Shark", plus ominous and deadly elements of the Russian underworld, and you get the picture: murder, suspense, and thrills-all enmeshed in wild, intelligent plotting from the fertile mind of this fine new author. I enjoyed her first book, but this one is even better and I'll tell you why. There's a new element among the mystery, suspense, and romance and it's humor. And well done, too. She's written in a new, quirky character whose dialogue is laugh-out-loud funny. He's Angels' spiky-haired, gun-happy, self-appointed bodyguard, done up in a style not unlike some of Janet Evanovich's characters. You'll love him! S.R. Claridge, the author, has a background in theater and has written scripts for several venues. She says her background in theatre and psychology helps her fill the pages of each novel with enough dramatic suspense to keep readers guessing until the very end. And that's exactly what she does. Throughout, you never know whom to believe. Claridge currently lives in Colorado and loves to hunker down in front of her computer with a Vodka Martini and write away. Well, that's fine by me; I'm ready for more. Recommended by reviewer: Jan Evan Whitford, Allbooks Reviews

An Action-Filled Adrenaline Kick
Rare indeed are the instances in life when the sequel is equally as good if not even better than the first; but this is the case in the Just Call Me Angel series by S.R.Claridge. Book one, Tetterbaum's Truth, introduces us to Angel Martin and involves us on her trek for self-discovery which leads her into the murky shadows of Mafia life. Book two, Traitors Among Us, is nothing short of an adrenaline kick; each page packed with action-filled suspense. The author skillfully weaves the story around each character and takes us deeper into conflict at every turn. This book will keep you up late at night reading and will leave you begging for another chapter in the life of the feistiest Mafia female to hit the literary world. Keep your eyes open folks, I predict you'll be seeing a lot more from this author.

Couldn't Put It Down!
This is the second book in the Just Call Me Angel series and it does not disappoint. Like it's predecessor, Tetterbaum's Truth, the story had me hooked within pages and quickly on the edge of my seat, where I remained until the very end. It is a bona fide suspense thriller and one I can see on the big screen. Two thumbs up!

Traitors Among Us by S.R Claridge

http://reabookreview.blogspot.com/2011/07/traitors-among-us-by-sr-claridge.html

Those of you who follow my blog will know that I have recently been sent the Just Call Me Angel books to review. I do tend to stick to chick lit usually as it is light, easy reading but I gave Tetterbaum’s Truth a try and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it so much so I have just finished reading the second book Traitors Among Us. Did I enjoy it......... Well I finished it in 5 hours so I think that answers that question!
Plot
With Tetterbaum’s Truth revealed and her true identity exposed, Angel Martin tries to adjust to her radically new role as head of the Chicago Maratinzano family. Unfortunately, Mafia life offers little down time.

The sudden kidnapping of her mother and Aunt Olga leads Angel on a path to a past she’s never known and an adversary she is unable to find. When an FBI mob bust against her family is fuelled by administration level information, Angel turns to the other Chicago Bosses for answers; but every trail dead ends and every person is not who they seem.

Racing to save the people she loves most, Angel must learn to trust her instincts, even when she comes face-to-face with the scariest truth yet… there are Traitors Among Us.
My Opinion
Traitors Among Us is a great follow on from the first book. The pace of the book was a little slower with this one but I think it worked well in this book as we are introduced to many more characters so it gives us time to get to know who is who. One of the new characters we meet in this book is Sophia who is Angels mum and her character gives the same feeling as Angel so we warm to her right from the first chapter.
I did miss Olga’s character in this book although she does appear at times in it she was the one who gave the first book the humorous part which is missing in this book but not having the humour made the book seem a little darker and on edge.  The element of suspense is back again in this book which gives such an adrenalin rush whilst reading I felt like I had been sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time whilst reading this book! During the whole of the book I felt the same feelings that Angel was having and that is who can you trust? Who is the good guys and who are the bad guys? This is what truly makes it a page turner.
There is a real mix of content in this book including crime, suspense, romance and mystery and of course the Mafia! I love the fact that right the way through book one and two there are no dull, low parts of the books they are action packed right the way through. The book has clearly been left open at the end to allow another book to follow on. I still stand by what I said in the first review and that these books will be made into a film and I am sure they will be a great hit.
I cannot recommend this book and in fact this series highly enough it is a little diamond waiting to be found so give this one a try.

It is my favorite in the series thus far! With characters that are so richly developed, unforeseen twists and turns in the plot and suspense that makes it impossible to take even a coffee break, I finished it in just one day. Looking forward to what unfolds in the next book.

Traitors Among Us (Just Call Me Angel Mystery Suspense) (Kindle Edition) June 20, 2011
I love this book. The best out of the series. Granted this is only the second book out of the series. I was hooked within pages. I am amazed at how she advanced the characters and the story.Everytime I thought I had something figured out, bam, wrong.I cant wait for the next in this series or for anything this author writes for that matter. I would love to see a movie come out of this , it would be action packed to the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lost sleep because I stayed up reading, July 12, 2011
This review is from: Traitors Among Us (Just Call Me Angel Mystery Suspense) (Kindle Edition)
After I read the first two books from this author I could not wait for this one to come out! I loved the suspense and the tension and the romance. It kept me on the edge of my seat, and when I should have been going to bed I stayed up reading, and when I was supposed to be working I was reading...

I have no idea how this author knows so much about Mafia life! But I felt like I was right in it all. I also loved reading about places I have been (Mizzou columns, Shakespeares Pizza). Made it all that more personal.

Great job Ms. Claridge. Looking forward to your next work.
